About a month ago, The Gateway celebrated its 99th birthday the only way that a birthday can truly be celebrated — by packing a bunch of twenty-somethings into Chuck E. Cheese on a Friday night.
Highlighted in this series of photos is the air hockey battle that took place, starting with an unpictured semi-final between Matt Pretty and I, and another semi between Alex Eldridge and Antony Ta. Alex and I advanced to the final, where I was able to pull out a come-from-behind 7–6 win that kept everyone (all three or four of them) on their feet (there were no chairs around).
I then celebrated by vomiting a plastic reverse-fried-egg on Chuck’s shoulder. Antony, apparently, celebrated his loss by jimmying open a Skee Ball game and swiping the tickets.
